I worked with the team to design a proposal for new additions to Copenhagen’s academy of music and student housing in Frederiksberg. The site for the new School of Culture and Music is located adjacent to Radiohuset, a historically significant building, orginally designed by Vilhelm Lauritzen.

My main contribution to the project involved design studies for developing a convincing facade logic that relates to the existing context. For the final competition material, I was responsible for the 3d model of the facade, elevations, sections, and diagrams.

existing site imagery:

The proposed facade of the school of culture and music is designed in the spirit of the Radiohuset with sand colored tiles placed in a vertical joint. The tiles are placed with a gap to create depth on the facade and the possibility of integrating slim windows. In some areas the facade is punctured by larger window openings which draw daylight far into the buildings and open up the building to its surroundings.
